Some Changes Around the Store, Business as Usual

As communicated a few months ago in our newsletter and social’s, we have had to make some changes in store, along with the redevelopment of our floor areas and bringing back the museum display — good news, it is now complete.

Following changes to Western Australia’s firearms legislation introduced in April 2025, Barry & Son Firearms & Military Collectables has completed the necessary modifications to our store to ensure we are fully compliant with the new requirements.

As part of these changes, some areas of the store are now designated Restricted Sales Areas.

What does this mean for customers?

For most of your visit, it’s business as usual. You’re welcome to browse the store and speak with our team about our extensive range of firearms, ammunition, accessories, military collectables and more.

The main change is that customers entering a Restricted Sales Area must now be accompanied by a member of staff — these areas are clearly identified.

These are areas where secured firearms are displayed outside the traditional behind-the-counter environment. You can still view and inspect the firearms in these areas — simply ask one of our team and we’ll be happy to accompany you.

You will also see that all the long arms have now been individually secured to the wall display areas including behind glass display cabinets.

The required store modifications are now complete, and Barry & Son Firearms is fully compliant.
